In contrast to his constant travels during 2011, Grant has been working every day of the new year in the North Carolina race shop.He has been preparing the Bragg Racing NASCAR Camping World Truck for the February 24th season debut at Daytona Speedway.
In addition to making the truck race ready, he has been spending time on the phone making contacts with potential sponsors for additional races beyond Daytona. “George and Josh Bragg want to race as many Truck races as possible in 2012. Our team does more with limited resources than any other organization in NASCAR. We can give sponsors more bang for their buck than other teams. We run up front in the Truck series and hopefully we can find some sponsors to allow us to feature them in the nationally televised races.”
The speedway truck which will be raced at Daytona was last on the track at Talladega a few months ago. With drafting help,Grant took the race truck to 6th place where his drafting partner abandoned him, relegating Grant to a 12th place finish.Grant showed that he could hold his own in the dangerous and unpredictable 2 truck drafts at the world’s fastest speedway. “There is no doubt that we can take this truck to the front at Daytona and hopefully we will get the opportunity to race at Martinsville and the other tracks on the 2012 NASCAR Truck schedule.”

Grant will be part of 2011 Daytona Speedweeks which kicks off with the ARCA race and ends with the Daytona 500. Grant will drive the #36 Allgaier Motorsports entry in the February 12th contest on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway. Because there was no sponsorship in place for the 09 last month, Grant made the decision to lease the car to Benny Gordon for the Daytona race. Since that time, the Allgaier team asked Grant to drive its Dodge in the season opening race. “I appreciate Mike Allgaier asking me to drive a good car and I intend on putting his car at the top of the field. There are so many entries in the race that there will be several cars which do not quailfy fast enough to make the race, but we intend to race our way in and to give the Allgaiers a chance to win the big race.”

GRANT AVOIDING ONE OF MANY WRECKS AT LANIER SPEEDWAY SUNDAY

Speedway racing is far different than the bumping and grinding Grant experienced at Lanier Speedway Sunday. “We didn’t crash, but we used up the hood and front fenders. There was contact almost constantly and passing required pushing and shoving cars at speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour. We can’t afford to have contact at the 190 mph speeds we will run at Daytona.”

For more information on the upcoming race, which will be nationally televised one week from this Saturday, can be found at www.arcaracing.com .

With the departure of long time sponsor BeasleyAllen, Grant has been hustling to find support for the 2011 ARCA season which opens in February at Daytona International Speedway. With no sponsorship yet for the big race at the high banked Florida track, Grant leased the 09 machine to veteran racer Benny Gordon, from Pennsylania, for Daytona testing and the race. Gordon, a seasoned racer who had never driven on a superspeedway, topped the charts for the 3 days of testing which concluded Thursday afternoon. “I was glad we gave Benny his money’s worth by setting the car up to be competitive for his first superspeedway race. I missed being in the car, but this is a tough business and we are going to do whatever we have to do to be ready to compete at Talladega this spring. Hopefully Benny will take the 09 to the winner’s circle at Daytona and I will do the same at Talladega.”

Nationwide series star Justin Allgaier’s family ARCA team did not have a driver for this week’s Daytona open
test session. Grant was happy to help out his friends from Illinois. Grant drove that car to the top of Thursday’s speed chart, just a few thousands of a second behind Gordon’s Wednesday time. The following article was posted this afternoon on www.arcaracing.com . While Grant and Gordon tested faster than the big money multi-car teams, the most impressive feat was Grant putting cars at the top as car owner/builder and driver of a car he had never sat in before Tuesday.

Speed the Main Thing for Enfinger as Driver and Owner as Final Day of Daytona Test Closes
(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – January 13, 2011) – Yesterday, Benny Gordon drove Grant Enfinger’s car to the lead position on the overall ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards testing chart at Daytona International Speedway. Today, Enfinger put his own name one slot below Gordon’s on the same list.

Enfinger drove the No. 36 Allgaier Motorsports Dodge this afternoon to a best lap of 48.418 seconds (185.881 mph), just four thousandths of a second off of Gordon’s leading time in yesterday’s drafting session. Gordon finished as the test’s overall leader in the No. 09 Enfinger Motorsports Ford, while Enfinger took the session and the second overall spot for the three-day test.

Brian Rose and 76-year-old James Hylton were tied for second in the session at 48.664 seconds (184.942 mph). Joey Licata Jr. and Jason Bowles completed the top five.

Milka Duno, Kevin Swindell, Randy Renfrow, Brent Brevak, and Bobby Gerhart comprised the remainder of the top 10.

With open testing over, the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will return to Daytona International Speedway on February 8 to begin preparation for the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 on February 12.

The 2010 racing season begins this afternoon when 42 racers take the green flag for the 200 mile Lucas Oil ARCA race this afternoon. Grant qualified the BeasleyAllen.com car 20th of 52 competitors. “I am a little dissapointed in our starting position, but we believe the car will race well in the draft. The key to the race is avoiding the big wreck which is sure to happen sooner rather than later. That will determined by luck and will be outside our control. We have taken care of everything we have control over and I am going to avoid the wreck if I can. However, we will be running 185 miles per hour in a pack and whatever happens, will happen.”

The final pre-race practice, which was to focus on drafting, was rained out Friday afternoon. Many of the racers have never drafted before and the fans are sure to see an exciting race. Speed TV will nationally televise the race this afternoon at 3:30 pm. The starting grid and all aspects of the race can be accessed at www.arcaracing.com .

The BeasleyAllen.com ARCA car placed 20th fastest of 52 competitors in practice Thursday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway. At a speed of just over 180 miles per hour, the car performed much better than it did at the December test. “The car handled well, and our great crew made quick changes between runs, allowing us to evaluate several set up changes.” A radiator leak and gear shifter bug occurred during practicd, but were quickly fixed, and Grant feels the car should qualify within the top 15 today.

“The practice and qualifying speeds will be slower than race laps, as the draft during the race will elevate the car speeds considerably. I feel the car will do better in the race than in qualifying, but nobody knows how his or her car will work with another car until the green flag drops.” The qualifying speeds will be available live this morning, through the web site www.arcaracing.com .

The 200 mile ARCA race will be nationally televised Saturday at 3 pm on Speed Channel.
