Grant has been on the move constantly since last week’s 8th place finish in the 44th Snowball Derby in Pensacola. The next day he drove home to North Carolina where he is helping his friend and long time crewman Zach Ralston prepare an ARCA car to race at Daytona in February.

From Charlotte, Grant flew to Indianapolis for the International Motorsports trade show Thursday and Friday. He drove to the Cincinnati area Friday evening for Saturday’s ARCA banquet which honored the top 10 season points drivers and owners. He and car owner Mike Allgaier enjoyed the evening and reflected on a good season in the ARCA series.

Grant slept a few hours after the banquet, rising in the early hours Sunday to drive back to Indianapolis to catch a 6 a.m. flight to Panama City. He and Jason Tunnell then drove to Gulf County Florida, making a personal appearance with the Bragg Racing NASCAR Camping World Truck in Port St. Joe. “We wanted to show our appreciation for Gulf County’s sponsorship at Talladega and I was glad to be in Florida.”

After an early morning radio interview in Panama City today, Grant heads back to Charlotte to help Zach put his ARCA car in shape for testing this weekend. Grant will help Zach at the ARCA open test session at Daytona International Speedway Friday through Sunday. Live timing and scoring of the test session can be found at www.arcaracing.com .

Grant and the Allgaier Motorsports team regained their early season performance by posting a 3rd place finish Friday night at Kansas Speedway. Grant was 7th fastest in practice and qualified the Beasley Allen Dodge in the 7th position. “The car was tight to begin, but the track came to us and a late pit stop adjustment made the car much better during the closing laps.” Speed TV commentator Phil Parsons noted on the broadcast that he could see Grant’s white driving gloves sawing the steering wheel during the opening laps. Later in the race the car’s handling improved, allowing Grant to advance through the field. The #36 team solidified its 4th place season standing, after a rough month which had put its chances of a top 5 season finish in jeopardy.

Grant and the race team don’t have much time to prepare for the season ending race at Toledo Sunday afternoon. That race will be nationally televised on Speed TV, with practice and qualifying set for Saturday afternoon. More information on ARCA Championship Weekend can be found at www.arcaracing.com .

After Toledo’s race Sunday, Grant will hustle back to the North Carolina shop for final preparations on the Bragg Racing NASCAR Camping World truck. Grant will head to the world’s fastest closed course track next week for Thursday inspection, Friday practice and qualifying and the 250 mile race set for Saturday October 22nd at 4 p.m. CDT. More information on that race can be found at www.nascar.com and www.talladegasuperspeedway.com .

Grant Enfinger and the Allgaier Motorsports team are heading to the dirt track at the DuQuoin [Illinois] State Fairgrounds for the second of 2 dirt races in the past three weeks in ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards with redemption on their minds.

After disappointing back to back finishes of 12th at Springfield [the first dirt track race] and 14th last week at Madison [Wisconsin], Enfinger and team are looking to this weekends race to “right the ship” according to Enfinger. ” We definitely ran better than we finished the past two races” said Enfinger. “At Springfield, we were running 4th for awhile but towards the end of the race but we got caught on the outside of a 3 wide situation and got shuffled back to 12th and we just didn’t have enough time to gain back any spots. At Madison last week, we were a top 3 car for sure but we broke a cross member with about 20 laps to go and it was all I could do to steer the car and finish the race in 14th. Both deals were kind of out of our control, but thats racing. We’re gonna head to DuQuoin for Monday’s race with our heads up and see what we can do to get things going in the right direction again”

Surprisingly, Enfinger is looking forward to Monday’s race on dirt. With only one career start on dirt tracks to his name, one would think that Enfinger would be dreading this race. Thats not the case. “I had a blast at Springfield [ARCA's first dirt race this season] a couple weeks back. My crew chief, Kelly Kovski, is our local dirt track expert and he really gave me a good car there. I’m expecting nothing less this time around at DuQuoin. I was able to complete all the laps at Springfield and learned a ton. It was alot of fun and I really think we can surprise some people with a solid run this weekend” said Enfinger.

Heading into DuQuoin, Enfinger has 33 ARCA starts in his career. In those 33 starts, Enfinger has 12 top 5 finishes and 21 top 10 finishes with a career best finish of second 3 times [Kentucky Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway in 2009 and Toledo Speedway in 2011]. He also has one career pole, Berlin [Michigan] Raceway this season.

The Southern Illinois 100 presented by Federated Auto Parts is set for Monday, September 5th at 1pm central time. The race is not televised but can be followed with the live timing and scoring and radio broadcast at arcaracing.com.

Grant Enfinger has accomplished alot as he has steadily climbed the ladder of success in his racing career. This weekend will add a new chapter to that story.

The ARCA Series presented by Menards has traditionally been a stepping stone for drivers looking to advance their racing careers on asphalt. However, for years now ARCA has thrown those drivers a little curve. This weekend is the first of those this year as the ARCA Series and its drivers tackle the 1 mile dirt track at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois.

This will be Enfinger’s first ever start on a dirt track. However, if his previous learning curve on tracks he’s never been to is any indication, Enfinger should do just fine. Fortunately for Enfinger, he has alot of help in the form of the team he drives for, Allgaier Motorsports. The team is based in Springfield so this is literally the “home track” for this team. Crew Chief Kelly Kovski is another weapon in Enfinger’s favor as Kovski himself is an accomplished dirt racer and has driven in several of the ARCA dirt races himself at this track, finishing no worse than 14th in six starts here. “The team and Kelly have an incredible amounts of notes from this track. That and the fact that I seem to be able to adapt quickly to places I’ve never been before should make the transition to dirt a little easier. I’m looking forward to the challenge and if we just keep doing what we’re doing, we should be fine” Enfinger said.

One twist in the plans for Enfinger this weekend is the fact that Kovski will not be on the pitbox for Enfinger this weekend. He will be in his own ARCA car competing against Enfinger but also acting as a teamate to Grant. Kovski spent the week in the shop last week setting up Enfinger’s car before working on his own. ‘Grant and Allgaier Motorsports are my primary concern. Grant is second in points right now in the ARCA Series. How he does reflects on me and its definitely in my best interests, and the best interest of the team, to make sure his car is prepared the best it can be. I’ll work on my car after I’m confident Grant’s is ready to go.” Filling in on the pitbox for Kovski will be Tommy Bear. Enfinger and Bear have worked together in the past with some success so Enfinger isn’t worried about the temporary change. “There isn’t a better person out there right now than Tommy to fill in as crew chief for me this weekend. I’m very comfortable with him on the pitbox and looking forward to the reunion. Having Tommy as crew chief this weekend will help with my learning curve. It will allow Kelly to be on the track with me in his car. I’ll be able to follow him in practice and learn the lines to run around the track and be able to hit him with any questions I’ve got to help get me around this place. I’m really looking forward to this weekend” Enfinger said.

The race will be Sunday at 2pm est. You can follow Enfinger’s progress with live timing and scoring and audio broadcast at arcaracing.com.
